I was born in washington D.C. on July 6th 1963 . I lived in Rockville Md for the first 6 years of my life with my mom and dada and 2sisters and 1 brother all older than me. I was the baby of the family then at the age of 6 dad got a job in fort hood texas. So we all packed the van up and traveled from Washington D.C. to Harker Heights Texas a small town near Fort Hood Texas where we had a swimming pool in the back yard. I went to elementary school at Harker Heights Texas through 6th grade. and then we went to Manor junior high school 7th grade only. Dad gave us the news were moving back to northern Va i.e. Fairfax at the age of 13. I went to Robinson secondary school for 8-12 and graduated in 1981. I worked for summer recreation as a bus attentandant every summer through high school . Iwas was told by a job counsler I would not make it at Northern Virginia community college" Wrong thing to say to me.

I studied early child hood education for four years then graduated with an associates degree in early childhood education in May 1987. Then I moved out of my parents in 1990 where I moved to Annandale Va with my cat shanda in to an apt with another woman. where i worked as a bus attendant for Fairfax county public schools since 1987. In 1991 I met my husband Mike in the parking lot where we lived in June 1991. He offered me a ride to the grocery store, and the rest they say is history. We got married 1994 .

In 1992 my husband changed jobs and met our friend Andrew . He got me intersted in photography by encourraging me to learning to use my husbands pentax k1000 . They Andrew & my hubby took me out shooting one day and that was all it took. In 1993 I started taking photography classes at northern va community college. I took almost every photography the school offered. From "This is a camera" to color film developing and printing All with my husbands pemtax. I graduated to a Nikon n70 film camera from there I graduated to Minolta film camera that had auto focus. Then digitsl SLRs became available I think my first was a Minolta 5d. About 90 percent ogf the pictures on my site came from that camera. In 1999 I took a class in Photoshop 6. I continued my Phtoshop education by taking classes in CS2 and CS3. All classes were a Northern Virginia Community Callege. Oh to meet that counselor now. Now I have participate in workshops. I went down to the wildlife refuge in Chincoteague Va. in November 2009 before it was damaged by the noreaster the trip was presented by BLUE RIDGE WORKSHOPS and taught by Elliot Stern. I took a couple workshops from Virginia Photo Safaris lead by Jack Nevitt. I hope this gives you insight into who I am and my passion for photography.
